Item #10 on my bucket list was to eat sushi. Everyone who truly knows me, knows I don’t eat meat. I’m not a member of PETA. I just don’t like meat and haven’t eaten it in so long, it could make me ill if I’m not very careful.
I wanted to try new and different things though. In March 2010, I went to a Sushi restaraunt with two friends. We ordered 5 different sushi rolls! I figured if I tried it, didn’t like it, they could finish it off 🙂
I found that I DO like sushi! Yum, it was so good. It’s not a dainty lady like thing to eat (since you open up wide & shove it in your mouth with chop sticks), but it’s so very good!
Chop sticks, that’s another part I had to learn. I couldn’t figure it out at first. I dropped my sushi on the table, in the sauce, and once getting it to my mouth. Lucky for me, my friends like me for ME & know I’m a goof ball. They only laughed a little while teaching me how to use the chop sticks.
After such a fine lunch, I decided I simply couldn’t throw away my chop sticks. Afterall, they were like my Japanese training wheels and I was proud of them. I excused myself from the table to go to the restroom, ended up in the kitchen, apologized, & found the real restroom. I washed them off & figured out how to make a hair accessory out of them so I could keep them.
I wore them back to work in my hair after lunch and adopted this ritual. Now, everytime I eat Chinese or Japanese, I have new hair accessories 🙂
