We’ve spent a lot of time in Gatlinburg, TN exploring & enjoying nature. This time we wanted to go in a different direction. We had heard a great deal about Big South Fork National River & Recreation Park, but had not been there. So, my husband & I decided to take the hour & half trip and check it out.
It was lovely 🙂 I definitely want to go back. We only spent a few hours there and hiked only 2 trials. From what we saw, it appears to be a well kept park with very well maintained pathways.
Big South Fork is a big park covering 125,000 miles of land stretching from northern Tennessee onto southern Kentucky according to their website.
Take a small look around with me 🙂

No camping in parking lot?

I plan on going back!! 🙂
These were all found in East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, or Indiana. (Indiana finds are all Nick’s.)
I love this new hobby 🙂 I have tried other forms of “getaways” and stress relievers over the years like Hiking (which I still love), DIY projects, reading, girls’ night out, etc. But, for a mom that is always in demand, this has been one of the most relaxing hobbies I’ve ever tried my hand at. The best part? Most of these fields are so remote, I have no cell phone reception 🙂 It’s like a magical gift from the daily grind of a never ending string of phone calls, messages, and social media bleeps going off.
This will be my last post about arrow head hunting until late fall this year. Sadly, farmers are planting their crops now or will be very very soon. Arrowhead field hunting is coming to a close for the season 😦
I will stop with the pictures for now 😉
I’m so excited about Sunday. The boys & I will be having our pictures taken by the coolest groovy chick around!! Her name is Kristi Dunlap White and she owns KD Photography.
She took our pictures last year in May. Here is a sampling of her work with my nutty boys!
